Experiencing The Supernatural Peace of God

This week my writing was pulled from a Teaching that was spoken at service a few Sundays back by Pastor Tobi Adetayo may this word bless you.

This morning my church had a guest speaker, and his teaching was based on Philippians 4:6-7 a very familiar passage that I have had to lean on after the death of Joshua. As he began to speak the spirit of the one and true living God began to speak to me. I would like to honor Pastor Tobi for giving me permission to share pieces of what he spoke but also for his obedience by teaching us the unchangeable word of God. Pastor Tobi opened with a question to the congregation. He asked us ” What lock are you trying to turn, and does it seems to be broken? Immediately I felt the urge to write but with no pen in sight, I grabbed my phone and type what the Lord was speaking. Many of us are attempting to unlock a door whether it be the door of life, finances, healing, or even just peace of mind. May this word supply you with the knowledge needed to step forth and come into agreement with that which God has spoken.

Have you ever wondered why you have difficulty leaving old mindsets or patterns behind? If you wondering why can I pose this question to you. Whose key are you using? Is it God or the world’s system? The word of God teaches us that Prayer needs to be the key point in our walk with him. I often reflect on the life of Jesus, but one thing that sticks out to me the most about him is his prayer life. Philippians 4 is titled “The Peace of God” Peace which the Oxford dictionary says means freedom from disturbance; tranquility.

Do you have this peace it speaks of? Do you know the one that designed it? A better question might be do you believe that through his presence that it is truly attainable?

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Pastor Tobi says ” God excepts us to live in a state of peace. He even goes as far as to say we must reject worry as a pattern of life.

Often after listening to life stories; my number one question to whoever it is that I am speaking with is you aware that this was dealt with at the cross? People, peace is our portion, healing is our heritage, and unspeakable favor is our guarantee in Christ Jesus. But because of what we see day in and day out we begin to forget the promises of God that were spoken over us before the foundation of the world. Jeremiah 1:5 “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. “If God can make such a bold statement like that to say that before he formed you he had things figured out ask yourself why are you worried? #Nojudgementzone because as I wrote this I found myself repenting of ever doubting God.

Psalms 103:3-4 NLT
“He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.”

Yesterday I spoke to my sister about life, and she asked me directly, “Do you trust the Lord? When I first started this blog I said that if I can’t be truthful then there is no point in writing, and I say this because some might be shocked at my response. I replied, I don’t know but what I do know is that I’m listening and following that still small voice 1 Kings 19:11-12. And I say this because I am still very much struggling with the death of my child. Never did I think that I bury my baby, my son that brought me so much joy; oh, how I miss hearing his voice.

We have this commandment to be still, To Walk by faith and not by sight
Trust in the Lord with all your heart the scripture says but somehow when the wiles of the wicked one come rushing in like a flood we waver and retreat as if we don’t have the bigger sword.

Pastor Tobi closes off by saying ” Turn to prayer, pick up your key and turn the lock and open the door boldly before the throne of grace Hebrews 4:16 shattering the lies of the defeated one. I want to close off with this; There is nothing that can stand in the presence of God that he can not manage. Bring whatever it is that you are worried about and lay it right at his feet.

Closing Prayer
King Jesus, we call upon you today to help us remember that prayer is the key to excessing your peace. Help us remember that we have the victory even when it doesn’t feel like it, help us remember that we are a royal priesthood, chosen vessel fashioned in our Heavenly Father’s very image in the mighty name of Jesus.
