If The Heart Could Speak

Joshua Bennett was born November 7th, 2002, at 6:30 pm. Known as Joshie to many friends and family he marked his territory on their hearts. At an early age, I saw valuable characteristics in him and just knew that one day, not only would he change the lives of friends and family but also anyone he would encounter while on this journey called life. A lover of sport at a young age Joshua began playing volleyball and running but it was volleyball that gave him joy like no other So loving and kind was he, forever while doing many other sports but volleyball is what kept his heart bubbling. With the Love of the Father in his heart, his contagious spirit is what caused many to take a liking to him. With the leadership skills that he learned as an older brother Joshua demonstrated it on the court but took that same enthusiasm and made a name for himself in anything that he touched. At 16 years old he rediscovered his love for art and began building things with his hands. This is what leads him to apply to the OYAP which stands for the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program. It’s there that he discovered his passion for Carpentry. Fast forward to September 2020 after receiving his High School Diploma Joshua set out to make a new life for himself in the small city of Waterloo, Ontario. Where he attend and had a great plan to expectations to get his post-secondary education at Conestoga College while registered in the Carpentry and Renovation program. Sadly, on the night of September 23rd, a group of unknown individuals carelessly took his life still with no regard that he was someone’s child, brother, and friend. Joshua is missed beyond words and no amount of time can fill this void.

A little over a year ago on that Thursday night, Joshua went out as he has done on many occasions but never returned. And while his killers would like to believe that no one would speak I know that this is not true especially if money is involved. I believe that like many things everyone has a price and to catch his killers the family will stop as nothing so we are asking with no pressure intended that you would give with the hope that someone will do what they would want someone else to do if it were their child. If you feel led to give, please hit the reward donations button anything will be greatly appreciated.
