Faith and Fear Can’t Live in the Same Place

1 John 4:18 New Living Translation
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

I respect and often watch the teachings of Apostle Dr. Matthew Stevenson. In his sermon called “Spirit of Fear,” he asks his congregation where they would be if they had no fear? What could we do if fear was not a factor?? I highly recommend watching this teaching. It is based on sound doctrine and spiritual wisdom from God’s word. I pray Revelation 3:13 over you “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith I to the church.

As mentioned in 1 John 4:6, we live in a world with two spirits. One is the spirit of truth, which is from God, and the other is the spirit of error from the enemy. God wants you to know that He is bigger than the lies that Satan has told you. No story ends the way it starts, but we often stay doubtful when the sea waves are at our door.

Matthew 8:24 New Living Translation Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

1 John 4:7-8 shows a beautiful illustration of God and true love. The scripture says in verse 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Take a few seconds to meditate on that verse, allowing God to open the eyes of our hearts.

I had to step away from writing for a moment, and while away, God said, “Don’t write so quickly.” He proceeded to show me a child and how they trust in their parents. A child from a young age trust that no harm can come unto them while in their Father’s presence because of the love demonstrated towards them. Below are a few verses that speak to God’s protection.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.”

Psalm 9 “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble…”

Psalm 16:1 “Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge…”

Psalm 17 “Hear me, Lord; my plea is just. Listen to my cry…”

Protection is a father’s responsibility. Under him, there is no fear. This week’s post carries the title, “Faith and Fear Cannot Live in the Same Place.” And what God wanted me to tell you is to leave the past in the past because of doing something new. How it played out before won’t happen again in this season. The enemy knows that, which is why he is working overtime to keep you in a place of fear, doubt and discontentment, but through the power of the Holy Spirit, he has no hold on you. Many of us have become stagnant not because we want to stay, but because of the spirit of fear and its daily reminders of how past situations panned out. “Let Go,” I hear God speak; it’s a snare from the wicked to displace you. Cast down the lies of the wicked one using my word 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.

God said, “Encourage my children. In my Kingdom, there is no fear or doubt, only blessings.”” But will you give me a chance to show you? Will you relinquish your rights? Take my hand as I guide you one step forward. My love for you is endless. Trust that your time is in my hands.

Closing Prayer

Father, my love, the greatest love that one can ever know. Thank you for dismantling the shackles of the wicked one that he has sown through deception. Burn up every root that he has used to entangle us. I pray that your spirit of boldness and courageousness would rest upon us so that we would open our mouths boldly, telling the Spirit of Fear that it has no hold on us because of the Blood that was shed at Calvery. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline and in the name of Jesus it must bow now and go to where the Lord has commanded it.

If you are struggling with fear, I encourage you to go to Google and search for Bible verses on love. Speak them over yourself: 1 John 4:4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
