1. Perseverance; Persistence in anything undertaken; continued pursuit or prosecution of any business or enterprise begun; applied alike to good or evil.
-Why is this important to have because with Patience and perseverance we can overcome the greatest difficulties.
Grief wants me to stop, but the grace of God keeps pulling me.
Father, your words are unchangeable, and you hold them above your name. Time can not hold you back from doing wonderful work. May the words that you speak spring life. May your Kingdom come, and you will be done. I ask in the name of your son King Jesus that you will continue to provide the strength and wisdom to write your word each week so that sound truth can read the minds of your people.
Today is just one of those days, do I write or just lay here in bed and seek the sleep that my body so earnestly desires but never really comes, grief is so draining. This past Saturday marked one year that Joshua was taken by ones that will soon be exposed for what they have done. This month has been so emotional not only for me but everyone whom his life has touched. To the friends, teachers, and community that reached out this week thank you for your support in this grievous time; I ask that you continue to uphold us in your prayers.
I press on but sometimes wonder what and how this statement truly means.
There is this song that I often listen to called “Prophesy your Promise” by Bryan and Katie Torwalt (I do not own the rights to this song). The words to the song sing
When I only see part
I will prophesy Your promise
I believe you, God
Cause You finish what You start
I will trust You in the process
I believe you, God
Lord with the countless acts of unsolved murders in this world, one can grow hopeless, and the spirit of doubt seeks to confuse me. But today I will no longer will I believe the lies that it whispers despite my circumstances and what is before me. So much time has passed, but I still believe that you will shed light not only on my matter but every situation that has caused your children great pain. Father will you uncover the truth so that we can lie down at night knowing that the ones responsible are behind bars so that they will never be able to inflict the pain that they caused us. Lord as I continue to Teach my son your word so that he will know that he is called and chosen. Lord, I ask on his behave that do you this for him because I want him to know that you are still in the business of delivering Justice in the name of Jesus.
Isaiah 43:26 says “Put me in remembrance: Let us plead together declares thou, that thou mayst be Justified.
One might wonder what that means, and everyone’s interpretation of the scriptures may differ. But when I read that to me it reminds me that God is truth, and no darkness can be in him. Also, he is faithful to deliver what he has spoken and I can call him to the remembrance of the words that he has spoken. So many thoughts and emotions ran though me Saturday night after returning from Kitchener. I did even sleep that night. I Often wonder what he was feeling in his final moments but know that my redeemer was there with him, and I have peace knowing that. I came home drained, sleep deprived in hope that finally I would get a good night’s rest but still nothing came. The traumatic impact that losing a child leaves on the body is unreal and at time wish that I could turn off my feelings.
Psalm18:30
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him
· When I buckler in the King James Bible Dictionary it says “A Portable shield, A shield surrounding the person Psalm 91:4. A large shield protecting the whole-body Psalms 35:2.
My buckler you have been in this storm, my King you are faithful. But as I was writing those words the phase “It is well” came to mind. So, I went to the story in the Bible where it is most recognized in the book of 2 King 4. In this story the Prophet Elisha was shown great hospitality by a Shunammite woman. Elisha ask the woman what I can do for you in return? Can I speak to the King or captain for you? And she replies “no I like to stay with my own people (2 King 4:13). So, then his servant Gehazi tells him that she has no child. Elisha then instructs Gehazi to call the woman and when she had came and stood at his door he tells her “About this season according to the time of life, thou shall embrace a son (2 King 4:14-16). You later read on that in verse (17) that the woman conceived and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said onto her. Has God said anything to you that you are waiting to come to pass? Have you lost hope because the season have changed? Or is it that we have put a timeline on what season he was speaking of? Theses are questions that I asked myself as I continue to see the season change and still no arrest, but what I remind myself when those thoughts creep in is that Gods time is not our time, and everything is set for an appointed time.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up.
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away.
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.
8 A time to love, and a time to hate: a time of war, and a time of peace.
But do keep in mind that Jehovah Rapha is not bound or scheduled to our alarm clock. A whole year has gone by, and the seasons have changed but Lord I am asking that my silent prayers the ones that I don’t speak be birthed. May new clues and fresh eyes come upon this case and every case that is sitting on the desk of the police leaving them puzzled and wondering if the missing pieces will eventually come. Open their eyes, King Jesus.
As I continue to illustrate what took place in this chapter, I urge you all to please read these passages for yourself so you know what is written is true, but also so that you can see how Great God is and loves his children deeply. In verse 18-21 you see that the boy grows up but one day falls and tells his father that his head is hurting, and the father responses by telling him to go to his mother. Upon arriving to his mom, he sits on her knee and ends up passing away that noon. 2 king 4:21 says “And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God and shut the door upon him and went out (22) she sends a message to her husband: “send me one of the servants in a donkey so that I can hurry to the man of God and come right back”. I will be paraphrasing from this point on. He asked her what the urgency is there a festival going on should we be praying I’m doing what the Lord asks and she tells him “Yes it is well.”
As she approaches the man of God he sees her coming up the hill and sends his servant to go meet her and ask her is everything OK? Is your husband OK and is your child OK and she turns to his servant Gehazi and tells him “It is well.” One question that came to me was how was she able to say that things are fine knowing what had just taken place? How was she able to gather the strength after losing her child to go and seek out the man of God? Why was that her first response?
Romans 5:5
And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Once she reached the Prophet Elisha she caught him by his feet, but Elisha’s servant Gehazi came near to thrust her away “and the man of God said, let her alone; her soul is vexed within her and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me 2 King 4:27. In the bible Prophets are Gods mouthpiece they are assigned the task of delivering the word of God to his people. They are given the ability to hear and speak what is told to them under the leadership of the Holy Spirit but yet this was hidden from the man of God.
Amos 3:7
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plans to his servants the prophets
As I was writing the verses above I heard the Lord say “Somethings are better left unsaid; now that does not mean that the truth will not be speak, but there is a time and place for everything, and the Lord know when it should come to pass, and we are not to waver in our faith. I went back and read 2 King 4:25-26 where it’s said that Elisha spoke to his servant Gehazi “Behold yonder is that Shunammite. Run now I pray thee to meet her.
Throughout the Bible we can see that from the beginning of creation people have faced many trials, but one thing that was demonstrated in every situation was that the Lord was faithful and answered the cries of his children. Not once did he turn a blind eye to the wrongdoing that was done to them, not once. I can say with every ounce of sadness that I feel in my body that the God is a promise keeper and that we will see each and every person responsible for the death of my son behind bars. Some might read this and say its wishful thinking, but I know what the Lord has spoken, and he has never let me down. They have already been caught if you ask me because they can’t escape God. I believe that God is just giving them time to do the right thing.
Psalms 51
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
God is the revealer of truth and loves when we confess our sins before him because he is a gracious loving father and will not turn his back on us in times of need even when he have done things that he does not like. Don’t let regret keep you from turning yourself in. You still have a chance to show remorse in hopes of a better outcome once its all said and done. By keeping silent you run the risk of facing a stricter sentence. #COMEFORWARD #DOTHERIGHTTHING in the sight of God don’t worry about what people will say because they won’t be there with you.
The Shunammite confronts Elisha with what happen, and he send his servant ahead of him with instruction to resuscitate the boy, but it does not work. Elisha then enters the room alone and shuts the door behind him. While in there he begins to pray to God, he lays on the child putting his mouth to the child mouth, eyes to his eyes and hands to his hands. One might think that this was a strange thing to do but we must remember Gods word says in Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, “declares the Lord. As the Heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and thoughts than your thoughts.
After this the boys flesh becomes warm. Elisha then goes on to walking back and forth. I believe this was him stepping back from the situation leaving space for God to do what he said he would do #GIVELIFE. He then goes back to the boy and stretches himself upon the boy and it was at this point the boy sneezes 7 times and opens his eyes (Completion).
Closing Prayer
Lord your word says in Zechariah 4:6 “So he answered and said to me, this is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of host.
Lord I am asking in the name of Jesus that the hidden parts of all these unsolved murders be shaken so much so that
the missing links be seen by the naked eye. Give the detectives the tools, wisdom, and insight to attach every person to the scene of the crime that they themselves will know that it was an act of God. Give these families the answers that they have been seeking, answer by fire Lord please and do it speedily. I seal this prayer under the power of the Holy Spirit.
I think its only right to let my viewers know that I will be taken a week break but will be back with the word of God after that. Please continue to pray earnestly for me and my immediate family as this pass week was tremendously hard for us. Love you and you will hear from me soon. Also my titles for my post are always titles or verses from the Bible this weeks is from Isaiah 43.
