Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Week after week I sit and write what I hear God speak on subjects that I sometimes know nothing about. But my confidence in what I write is not in me, but in the one that called me Romans 7:18 holy acceptable, and set apart. Does God really speak? I’m often asked by people when I share the Gospel with them ? My posts are a living testimony that he does and I encourage all to pray and listen so you to can receive your next direction too.

Jeremiah 33:3 ESV
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

Job 33:14 ESV
For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it.

Psalm 121:1-2 says I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! Lord speak your servant is listening, this pen is loose so that your word can flow freely.

2 Chronicles 7:1 When Solomon finished praying, fire flashed down from heaven and burned up the burnt offerings and sacrifices, and the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple. 2 The priests could not enter the Temple of the Lord because the glorious presence of the Lord filled it. 3 When all the people of Israel saw the fire coming down and the glorious presence of the Lord filling the Temple, they fell face down on the ground and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying, “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!”

As I continued to read verses 7-8 said “Solomon then consecrated the central area of the courtyard in front of the Lord’s Temple. He offered burnt offerings and the fat of peace offerings there, because the bronze altar he had built could not hold all the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and sacrificial fat.8 For the next seven days Solomon and all Israel celebrated the Festival of Shelters. As I was reading this the Lord asked me why it is important to sacrifice and give. My response was that we must remember that everything we have was given to us.

John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Since the death of Joshua, I see life differently. One thing that God has highlighted to me is that it doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, young or old, all will encounter rough times and your faith will be tested. Sometimes I read the Bible so quickly that I miss key points that the Lord wants me to know. Isn’t it funny that when rough times hit we often forget or look over the blessing that God has gotten us through? Knowledge is what the Lord spoke to me as I thought about this week’s word. But I believe he wants us to take a look at this subject because when troubling times hit how do we approach it? Hard times happen and we will never know why; Some might say that it is because of sin while others might say it is just a way of life but either way, what the Lord showed me is his word is the firm foundation to overcoming every battle no matter the fieriness of it.

2 Chronicles 7:11-16
So Solomon finished the Temple of the Lord, as well as the royal palace. He completed everything he had planned to do in the construction of the Temple and the palace. 12 Then one night the Lord appeared to Solomon and said,” I have heard your prayer and have chosen this Temple as the place for making sacrifices. 13 At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you. 14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. 16 For I have chosen this Temple and set it apart to be holy—a place where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart.

At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops and send plaques among you the Lord said in verse 13. Then immediately he goes on to say (If my people) Who? Family we belong to someone and his name is Jehovah- Jireh, the greatest provider that one can know, protector and father, the one that does not sleep nor slumber.

Psalm 121:3-4
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.

Proverbs 1:7
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Knowledge: Fact, information

When things happen in life that make no sense,  I tend to call someone telling them the situation that has transpired instead of kneeling before the one that knows our end. Now, I am not saying that calling someone is an ungodly thing, but what God showed me was that turning to an earthly vessel, trusting in their ability having faith in their solution is. Seeking knowledge from ones that don’t know the forecast can cause more harm than good and this is why prayer has to be essential in our daily living. 2 Chronicles 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. One might not think coming before God in prayer is needed for everything but it is necessary no matter how big or small the matter may be. But there is something else that God said about why we need to seek Him first and that was sometimes we release or share too much information. And as we all know once words are released they can not be taken back. Wisdom I hear the Lord speak needs to be used not in every conversation.

James 1:19
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

As I type and think about the last couple of problems that arose I can honestly say that I wish I had just reminded silent and prayed and let God work it out. And this was not because wrong advice was given but too much advice and that can cause one to sway when deciding on what approach needs to be taken. This is a  judgment, safe, free from condemnation. Romans 8:1  Now there is no condemnation for those who belong in Christ Jesus; Ask yourself if prayer was your first initial point do you think that the circumstance would have played out a little differently? Whether it be the time frame it took to work itself out or the overall outcome #Selah which means pause and reflect because that was just a lot to digest.

Closing Prayer
Lord, I am guilty of seeking insight from mere humans before trusting the knowledge that you have. But I acknowledge you and know you only want what’s best for me because of what your son did on the cross for me. John 14:6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  Lord teach us and help us understand more that you care even in the small thing, that there is no situation that is too small for you, and that you desire to be included from the very start. John 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy, My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

There is no right or wrong way when learning how to cope and manage issues that may arise but what one thing I know and this is only by the grace of God is that if hard times don’t come then one can’t grow and know how to encourage another that by face the same battle later on in life. God, you have given us prayer so that we can come and be strengthened in times of trial. Help us be consistent even when life gets hard. Jesus prayed and depended on God for his next. Jesus taught us the importance of setting time apart to pray Mark 1:35. Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.  Will you call upon God and trust without seeking a second opinion? Trusting that he would never lead you down the road of destruction bringing you to your next? Will you call upon Him in times of uncertainty and allow Him to show you great and mighty things? In 1 Kings 18:24 Elijah said that you are the God that answers by fire, my prayer this week is that we would remember, have faith, and never forget just who you are in Jesus’ Mighty Name.

Isaiah 65:24
I will answer them before they even call to me.

While they are still talking about their needs,
I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

The song of the week is called Not Afraid feat Mavercity City Music

He has Risen, and I am glad that he called me when he did enjoy your Easter remember your story is nowhere close to being over.
