Happy New Year, Guys!
We Made it, and we Give God the Glory and Praise. Today is January 9th, and many of us are returning to work. I was driving home from Trauma Therapy, which I started this morning. While there, my counsellor asked me what I wanted to get from our sessions. My answer was to add to what the Lord has asked me to do: see things from another perspective and not automatically think negatively when issues arise. Grieving is not easy and has its way with our emotions, but God has been doing work in me to get me through this stage of grief.
In the book of Esther, she had a problem: the King’s Servant Haman disliked her people and wanted to wipe them from the face of the earth, and when she went before the King, he asked her twice what she wanted when she requested that she throw a banquet for the King. This morning, I had a choice when answering her question: I could have to dance and talk around my concerns or hit them head-on. I was challenged this week to be truthful with God in prayer, and I won’t lie; There were some things that I brought up in prayer that if one heard them, their initial response would be, but Felisha, you know that this is wrong according to the word of God.
Zechariah 4:6
Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, “This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ saith the Lord of hosts.
I think being completely transparent is a beautiful thing because it was at that place in prayer that I surrendered to God, allowing his spirit to start the work that needed to be done in me so that my heart could be responsive to the power of the Holy Spirit. Guys, we are only 9 days into this year, and if I can encourage you in any way on this healing process, it would be to be upfront with God in prayer about what you need. The King asked Esther twice, but we can access to what Esther required because of the Blood shed on Calvery. Let your request be known. We don’t need to hide from God; He is a strong tower, our hiding place; the veil has been torn. We don’t need to walk into the hall of the Palace being separated from him. All we have to do is open our mouths humbly. He is waiting for us to speak.
