Running My Race

May 12, 2023

Pass the baton is what I hear the Spirit of God say. The race is not for the swift but solace in him is how we endure. “Stop focusing on the lies the enemy dangles before you like a rabbit seeking his next carrot”. It’s a lie, a distraction, to pull you away from the work I have called you to do.

Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

I will deliver you with each step you take. I uproot, pluck up and destroy; my fire goes before you to light up the way is what I hear the Lord speak. I am attending my son’s Track and Field meet and as I steer at the Track I see 10 meters, 20 then 30. Know that the Lord has already run the whole track of life before he placed your feet on it. God would not ask you to do a thing if he hadn’t done it already; nor ask you to do a thing if he had not given you the tools to complete the job.

~Have Faith I hear him speak, relay on me the sovereign one~

John 13 titled “Jesus Washed the Feet of His Disciples” reads in verse 1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. Jesus never quit but that is not because he never thought about it but because he understood his position seated in heavenly places and his purpose of being sent to earth. But also that the spirit of God fueled him to complete his task. God’s spirit led him and upheld him even when things seemed impossible.

Be grounded and rooted in Christ Jesus
Rest in Him
Seek Him while he may be found (Isaiah 55:6)
Worship Him for he is Holy and remember that all that you need is found in Him

Zechariah 4:6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

John 13:3-4
Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.

Jesus worked and fulfilled his calling until the end. Yes, life happens, and there may even be bumps in the road that stub your feet but this is the journey called life and the experience needed to shape us. God is our Father, fathers protect, feed, and shelter their families. We need not worry when things happen, the road is safe I hear the Lord say. Walk, run, or even jog but I want to encourage you this week not to stop. Water from the never-ending well has been provided for you along the way. My Spirit within runs endlessly.

Jesus needed rest. John 4:6 “Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There you see it for yourself that our Great High Priest Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.) got tired and need to sit to rest. I say this because rest is different from quitting and rest time should be taken but managed. Because the spirit of complacency would love nothing more to rob you of time allotted to complete a task causing you to sleep when you should be walking.

John 13:17
If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

As I was writing the verse above the Lord asked me why is this important. My response was that we all need an example. As I continued to read verses 8-17 I saw that Jesus served which was refreshing because he is the King of Kings, Lord of Lord took time to wash the feet of his disciples. I write this to say we all have a purpose but the greatest thing anyone can do is serve and help others.

John 13:8-17
Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”10 Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.”12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you [a]know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

Closing Prayer
God, giver of life you made the ultimate sacrifice when you sent your son Jesus to earth to die for our sins. Life is a gift that I think so many of us without understanding take for granted. Help me, help us follow the great example and teaching left for us in Your word. Help us place any worries that may arise before you and grow deeper in understanding that you will direct, provide, and support us with everything we need. I pray for the minds of your children 2 Corinthians 10:3-10 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. 7 Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ’s, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ’s, even [b]so we are Christ’s. 8 For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave [c]us for [d]edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed— 9 lest I seem to terrify you by letters. 10 “For his letters,” they say, “are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.” I pull down every strong man, every high and lofty thing that would keep us from experiencing the life that you have called us to live. Help us understand that to serve in your kingdom is an honor, but to run in this race is a privilege that not many will answer the call to. To the leaders, whether behind a pulpit or in place of authority, my remarks to you are to equip those coming behind you. Do not try to stifle their calling remember you were once them; make great successors and be willing to pass the baton #Servewell I seal this prayer with the fire of God.
