The Art of God

Colossians 1:15-16
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation:16 for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

This week I had a moment and while talking to a friend I made the statement “I want to talk to Moses; I want to talk to Abraham. I need to ask them how they did life even when things get rough. Some might wonder why? But I am here to tell you that it doesn’t matter whether you are in Christ or not things will get difficult sometimes. But does this mean that God is not there? No, and we know this based on his word that was written in Hebrews 13:5 Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” My friends responded to me shortly after and said “They focused on God and not what they saw going on around them.

Father, I cry out Abba Father. I need you so much; I don’t even think that I realize it at times because you have never let me feel the full measure of what was sent against me. Tell me what to write because this week is just feel like I have nothing to give.

I’m Christian, but human which means I feel just like everyone else. If I were to say to you that I don’t waver sometimes it would be a lie. Now my wavering doesn’t mean that God’s word is not true, it just means that I haven’t allowed the word need for this specific circumstance to take root like he wants it to. Colossians 3 is where the Spirit of God led me this week and as I was reading I thought to myself this life is not even our own we are just people walking out the will of God the Master story writer. Walking out the Greatest Love story ever told.

The Art of God is the title of this week’s post and the word in Colossians 3:1-2 says “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. His beautiful masterpiece, his wonderful design.

I paint from time to time. I wouldn’t say that I am an artist, but I would say that I do have a creative side. I say all this because when understanding Art, we must remember that most canvases started off blank. Often there will be mess-ups and mistakes, but one wouldn’t be able to tell unless the Artist mentioned it. But once done we stand in awe looking at a wonderful #Masterpiece I hear the Lord speak.

God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th. Genesis 1:4-6 “4 And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day” and the darkness “night. “And evening passed, and morning came, marking the first day.6 Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.

Unlike us, God makes no mistakes. Psalm 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. “Your life is not a mistake” I hear the Lord Speak it’s a blessing and sometimes we need to be reminded of that.

I thank God for his mercy and grace that he doesn’t shun us out when we do walk in error; giving us the ability to come boldly before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) and make our prayer request before him.

I was led to read James 3:1-3 “Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.3 We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. While I read verse 3 where it said “Turn about their whole body” I heard the Lord say “Turn to me. 8 years in this walk with Christ and still at times I run to man before falling on my knees in prayer. We all need encouragement and reminders that God has to be our refuge. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Encouraging sone to pray about everything as it says in Philippians 4:6 is easier said than done especially when the fiery dart of the wicked one is at your door but it is required.

Psalm 121:1
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Lord Help us is my prayer

Psalm 124:1-3
If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say; 2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side when men rose up against us: 3 Then they had swallowed us up quick when their wrath was kindled against us: Lord let not our enemies rise up against us

Psalm 91:10
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. In the precious name of King Jesus, no evil or plaque shall come nigh thy dwelling.

Lord your word says in Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like as a fire?” saith the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Shatter the legs of the wicked one and anything that has been sent against our household. May your peace that surpasseth all understanding flow like a river in our hearts and our homes. Help us to understand that we must walk in victory no matter the circumstance. Heal our minds, emotions, and hearts. We love you King Jesus and can’t do life without you.

Psalm 94:17-18
Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. 18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

Lord, we ask in the name of Jesus that you continue to do what you said you will do and uphold us with your righteous right hand.
