When hurt, there is healing

When hurt, there is healing

Malachi 4:2
“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.

Sometimes the Lord uses old experiences to teach new lessons. Last night, after reflecting on the day’s events, God spoke to me, saying, “Heal.” This took me back to last summer when I made some poor decisions in a time of deep hurt. But the Lord was gracious to me. I’ve shared before that, due to the pain I felt, I did things I wouldn’t usually do. I just let my emotions guide me, not understanding why this was happening. This past Thursday, I lay on my bed, wondering what I had done to cause someone to take my child’s life. It felt like some kind of karma. But then I heard the Lord speak again, saying, “Nothing.” Tears fell from my eyes. You see, the enemy works hard to deceive, making people think that what they see is true or can predict the future.

Romans 3:4
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Romans 3:4 says, “Let God be true and every man a liar.” Satan knows that God is not done yet. Things may not be as we want. But, our heavenly Father is at work, fixing the broken pieces. Due to our human nature, we sometimes act too soon. We don’t use wisdom, not realizing a simple action can reopen a wound. God has already sealed it with the Blood of Jesus. Heal. Don’t let today’s events make you look back like Lot’s wife.

Genesis 19:16-26
16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. 17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”18 But Lot said to them, “No, my lords, please! 19 Your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die. 20 Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it—it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.”21 He said to him, “Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of. 22 But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it.” (That is why the town was called Zoar.23 By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. 24 Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. 26 But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Revelation 21:4 NLT
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.

Tomorrow will be three years since Joshua’s death. Despite the enemy’s lies, I remind myself: no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Every tongue that speaks against me will be condemned. Guys, God is on our side. He has amazing things waiting for us. Don’t look back; we have crossed over to the other side.

This week, I chose “What a Miracle” by Elevation Worship as the song of the week. As you listen, may God touch your heart.
